Surprise Weekend Trip to Chicago! 🏙

Hi all!

Thursday night we were just chilling watching New Girl (the usual) when I get an email on my phone from Mirhad. I was super confused and I see at the top it says, “Get ready for your trip coming up on…” and it cut off. So I open up the email and he booked a night for us to go to Chicago on Saturday!!! I was surprised and he had the biggest smile on his face after I opened it. I worked on Friday and we packed Saturday morning before we left, it was super quick since we only needed like one outfit and our PJ’s. We got there around 12pm and started exploring right away. He said he wanted to take me to Chicago to look at Christmas lights and go ice-skating (which I’ve been saying I wanted to do all Winter long) so it was so sweet of him to surprise me like that! We didn’t get to go ice-skating because the line was 2+ hours long, so we said another time. We still had fun though and I got to cross something off of my winter bucket list!

Overall, Chicago was cold, but not as cold as I expected it to be. Like you could still go outside as long as you’re bundled up, kind of like STL too. Pics below!

 

West Coast Road Trip Pt.3: San Francisco!

Hello hello!

Continuing on from my previous blog post, we woke up super early to go catch our flight to SFO. It was a short flight (yay) and the most craziest thing happened before we tried to land. So from the start, they were saying the plane that was supposed to take us to SFO was running late due to weather conditions back in SFO. I was worried right away about how this flight would be and it really wasn’t all bad until we were about to land. So all of a sudden it got super cloudy and foggy for a good 5-10 min. You could see the mountains and then a layer of clouds. All of a sudden after a couple of minutes of traveling through these clouds, we just see the ocean lol. It was a little bit scary and then we landed 5 seconds later! Anyways, finally in SFO and it’s SUPER cloudy. We had to go find the place to pick up our rental car and then we’d be on our way.

The first stop we made was to In n’ Out of course, it was soooooo good. We’ve tried it before and the mistake we always made was adding animal sauce or whatever it was and it didn’t taste good. But this time we just got regular burgers and fries and it was delish!

After we ate, we found out that they didn’t even clean our rental car, it was so filthy in the back so we went and returned it. They gave us a different better car and then we were on our way to go see the Golden Gate Bridge! It took maybe 30 min to drive there from the airport which wasn’t too bad, but we were trying to avoid those traffic times. The bridge was beautiful and the scenery surrounding it was so nice, but it was sooooo windy and cold! You could barely keep your eyes open for a picture!

After taking some pictures, we started driving towards one of our friends houses since we agreed to stay at their place for the night. It was about an hour away and we went through a lot of hills. It was a cool drive over there! When we arrived, their dog was waiting to greet us and ran back inside so we could meet her in there. She was so shy in the beginning, but got so comfortable with us that she was sad to see us go! Our friend Elvira got off work around 6 so we chilled with her brother Eldar until she came home. After that, we just went to drive around and explore downtown and saw some cool places. We got to see that cool street that’s super curvy, it was at night, but it was still awesome. We also went somewhere to a very high hill, but it was so foggy you couldn’t see anything. 

So after a quick day in SFO, we woke up the next day refreshed and ready for our road trip down to Yosemite! More in the next post 🙂

 

 

A day in Great Sand Dunes National Park!

So we spent our Sunday driving to the Sand Dunes and it was beautiful, but VERY windy. So windy that we couldn’t handle it so we just went back to the car while we waited on Ermin and Anel’s attempt to walk to the top. Ermin gave up within 15 minutes and Anel made it to the top, but he was destroyed by the sand hahaha. When we saw him walking towards the car, we all just started laughing because the sand literally destroyed his front part of the sock, I’ll have to post a picture so it’s bigger than the rest because it’s just too funny.

Like I literally cried from laughter, it was the highlight of this trip.

We weren’t able to take many because of the wind, but we still managed to get a couple of good ones! Beautiful views, beautiful place, just a really hard hike!

Monday March 26, 2018 🌼

Hey hey hey!!

Happy Monday everyone! I feel like it’s been the longest day ever. Set an alarm to wake up at 6 am to go to the gym and that didn’t happen… I’ll try again tomorrow. Instead, I went back to sleep until I had to wake up for class and going to class was basically pointless because it wasn’t much help for the study guide. But, it doesn’t matter, still went. After that I came home and ate 3 eggs and then went to go run some errands with Mirhad. Did everything except go move our delivery date of our appliances to a later date because we are not even close to being done with the kitchen. I have soooo much to do before I leave this weekend 😵

So in Chicago it’s going to be rainy and cold, which sucks, but when we went for Vildana’s birthday last summer it was rainy as well and we still had a good time even though it was much warmer. So the rain won’t be stopping us, we’ll still have fun! I need to plan my outfits since it’s going to be more winter type clothing, so I’ll be doing that probably Thursday after my class. I also need to change my windshield wipers before we leave since it’s going to rain and mine are so bad for some reason even though I changed it like 6 months ago I feel like. 🤔

I need to study for my micro test a little bit more the next 2 days and get that over with. I also have to finish the homework that’s due tomorrow & then make sure I’m caught up for next week since I’ll be gone. I wonder if my teacher would give me the problem set earlier?? Hopefully, I can just finish it while I’m gone because when I come back I have a test, ugh I feel like she flies through the material, but seriously we just had a test 2 weeks ago!!!! 😐

Anyways, it’s going to rain for the next 2 weeks and I’m already annoyed. But I guess this seasons saying will be “April showers bring May flowers,” so bring on the flowers!!!

So we came up to Washu and both of us forgot our computer chargers and mine is on 44% and his is on 20% 😦 so I can’t even use my computer for long to continue blogging 😦

But yeah, I’m going to go finish this homework and study!! Bye! 🙂
